This system plugs into the standard Digital 132 Lap Counter (30342) (sold separately) on one side, and your laptop on the other side using a USB connection for your computer, it is not a stand alone system as it needs to receive information from the lap counter. Straight from Carrera: the Carrera PC Unit can be used with the new control unit (30352), but not with it and a lap counter The thinking is that people are more likely to only use one or the other and not both. The new lap counter (30355) plugs into the plug that is used by the PC lap counter so only one at a time can be used. However, you can use the old 30342 lapcounter and pc unit at the same time with the CU.
